George Washington was the first president of the United States of America

He was born on 02/22/1732 and died on 12/14/1799.

From 1789 to 1797 was George Washington became the first president of the United States of America. He was a son from a very rich landed proprietor and he was born in Mount Vernon in Virginia. Later he was an officer and he married Martha Dandridge Custis in 1757. Because of this wedding he was one of the richest men in Virginia. So he bought a very big plantion in Mount Vernon. In 1754 he was not longer an officer and he became a major. In 1755 he became to a commander- in- chief of the American army. In 1781 he won the war against the Britins in Yorktown. With this win the independence war was finished. In 1783 the British signed the agreement and since now the Americans are free. On February 4 th 1789 he was elected for being to be the first president of the USA. In 1792 he was elected a second time.

1797 he was elected a third time, but he declined because he thought he was too old. After him James Knox Polk Chester became the second president.
